Lately I feel like a broken record when it comes to blogging…it is always later than planned and too infrequent. So I will make up for it with one heck of a return and a really great shoot & story to share with you. I received an email not long ago from this lovely family. We set the date and they made the long trip up from LaGrange ( I have to admit I was stoked that they would travel just for me to shoot this awesome occasion). Having been referred to me from one of my amazing fall brides I was very excited to meet them. You see, Dana and Blake here are fairly new newly weds ( so the love was just a flowin’) and they have had the blessing of their niece Shannon come into their lives. Who says “baby” makes three? In this case the free spirited, beautiful, and opinionated Shannon makes three. They could not have been more fun to work with! Dana & Blake are two of the most compassionate people I’ve met and it was obvious they know just how blessed they are. The night came to an end at Sweet Treats with a little bit of talk about MC Hammer, American Idol, and just how silly boys really are. Dana, Blake, and Shannon thank you so much for an incredibly enjoyable night (and of course the hot fudge sundae).

Feeling the grass between our toes….
Here I am again, not having posted for awhile, I apologize for that…seriously. It’s good to be back! ( and for good reason…) I have so much to report on some awesome people and some amazing time spent with this family. First of all, thank you guys so much for letting me be a part of the family for a day…Piedmont Park was incredible and I had a blast kicking my shoes off and feeling the grass between my toes ( Thanks Conor and Alyse for the nudge to join in!) I would have to say that Piedmont was quite the adventure considering all of the “residents” taking naps under the trees and 2 very spirited pups. The grandkids rolled down hills while everyone cheered them on and I think we all really wished we could just jump on in but resisted the urge. One thing that I have learned over the past few months….family is what we’ve got in life. (Yes, I am going to get a wee bit serious here) Live life with, Laugh with, and Love your family as much as you can. Don’t take light the time you have with your children, your husband or wife, or your parents. Roll down the hills, run your toes through the grass, take a stroll through the park, and jump for joy that you have such blessings as these. (Jennie, your patience is so appreciated. It was a joy meeting you and yours, God Bless.)
In love with a Cowboy….
Tammie…this country boy loves you! This was apparent as I spent the day with these two. I headed down to the FFA Training Center in Florida and when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the lodging family style ( very accommodating to large groups) but there were volley ball courts, a swimming pool, fishing areas, and lots of mossy low hanging trees for my boys to get lost in. Although it rained, the weekend made for a great time with friends and family. Tammie here likes life in the fast lane. She is CEO & Publisher of Vintage Motorsport Magazine, although everyone thought she would find love in a fellow racer she fell back to her roots and fell in love with a cowboy. It was an evening filled with laughter, tears, and tons of dancing. ( Which is secretly why I love to do weddings…sometimes if I’m lucky I can sneak in a move or two… but we won’t share those pics here. ) Tammie & Tom, I wish you both all the joy & peace God may give..I love you both!

Champagne and Truffles…
It’s official, wedding season has begun! You met Kristyn & Kevin in their engagement session in April…well they are now Mr. & Mrs.! It was an amazing day filled with hilarious friends, loving family, and generous neighbors. Kristyn was a stunning bride and Kevin made for a dashing young blue eyed groom. The day started off with some iffy weather but came through for us. Thanks to their parents and wonderful neighbors that opened up their beautiful homes for the event. The bride and groom love Mexican food so the guests enjoyed Margaritas and some awesome Mexican dishes. The colors, champagne & truffles, couldn’t have made a more beautiful scene. It was truly an honor to witness & celebrate this day with you both. Congratulations and may God Bless your many years together!

Mother’s Day Duo….
This Mother’s Day was a quiet one for the most part. I took my own mother to lunch and enjoyed it…as I always do. She is an amazing woman and I can only hope to be as beautiful and as sincerely good as she is some day. After spending some time with her I headed to my MIL’s house with all of my husband’s family and again, I am completely blessed to have a MIL that loves me and my family as much as she does. We played outside with the boys and she read to them, played in the sand box and got dirty right along with them ( she does that a lot…however she does bathe them afterwards too, which is the biggest perk!)
All in all I cannot complain a single bit about the wonderful family I am surrounded by, blessed is the only word for it.
In addition to all of that, I had the fortune of doing a Mother’s Day photo session for a dually blessed family. The C Family were incredibly laid back and energetic all at once. You see, I teach little Z here on Wednesday nights and he is the most intelligent little boy…almost too smart.
He has an older brother and will soon have a little brother. Their Mimi joined them and was up for the day at the park and wherever else they lead us that evening. The weather could not have been better…..warm enough to wear shorts and cool enough for a Mom expecting her 3rd to enjoy it. Mom and Dad flirted on the playground, laughed so sweetly at each other’s jokes, and did not hold back on enjoying their little boys. Thank you Brooke for giving me a glimpse into your sweet lives. Congratulations Mimi on grandson #3.

Here comes the bride…
It has been way too long since I last posted so I apologize. School has since ended and the sweet summer sun has set in. This month marks 9 years of marriage for Jason and I and it seems very fitting that we will be shooting two weddings in a row. (The first one being for the absolutely adorable couple below). This Saturday will mark Kristyn & Kevin’s lives forever. I am honored to be a part of it and cannot wait to see all of the amazing details that they’ve put together (with the help of an amazing sister, Vickie). If you ever get the chance you MUST check out Vickie’s cake blog at www.spoonfuloffrosting.wordpress.com . Here are a few shots from their engagement session back in April. It was an insanely windy cold day but the sun was shining. Kristyn & Kevin, this Saturday will come and go as will many more years together. Soak it all in, take every moment and make it yours! See you soon!

In the Moment…
It’s been some time since I last posted but the wait will be well worth it! March was very busy with the fresh blooms of spring and warm weather finally in our midst…along with love in the air. I had an amazing opportunity come my way and I took it. Mike and Cat of In the Moment Photographs asked if I would 2nd shoot for them at a Hindu engagement ceremony. I excitedly obliged and was well on my way to Chattanooga with camera in hand. You will see Nicki & Satyum here with the warmest of smiles and most amazing garments you could imagine. While I did not participate in the awesome carousel session I was welcomed at the engagement ceremony with open arms. Their families made it a point to make Mike and I feel “at home” and experience their event as guests. Before I knew I it I was caught up in the laughter and tears and enjoying the amazing food. Please take a look at the links above for a sneak peek and here are a few of my own highlights.
It is with the utmost thanks to Mike & Cat for believing in me and calling on me to assist them. You both are amazing Creatives and words cannot say just how grateful I am for the experience. May you continue to be blessed with these amazing couples to work with.

Stay tuned for Kristyn & Kevin’s engagement session as well as highlights from my trip out West to Wine Country!!!

Spring in Full Swing…
Literally…..spring is in full swing, as in SWING BATTER! This week I experienced my first T-ball game as an adult ( with children). That last part is important to note because I think things change when it’s your kids verses yourself holding that bat. I remember all too well standing at that tee as a young girl. I also remember that I was one of only two girls on the team and no one ever wanted to throw the ball to me and maybe I had an issue of throwing the bat. (Yes, I shed a few tears over it but swiftly learned that cheerleading made it all better)
This was not the case for the Bad News Bears here. (Don’t you just love their name!?) There were two girls on the team and they rocked their pink gloves and helmets better than I ever could have!
The field was all business as the Coaches readied their teams with “pre-battle” cheers and simultaneous hand slaps (insert group high five here). It was quite honestly the most exciting and charged ball game I’ve been to. There were passionate parents in the stands with encouraging words for their children and for the other team as well.
LOL
There’s no doubt that Baseball is America’s game. You will see here both teams, and although it was Bad News for the Bears, they all went home smiling. (Thanks to all the parents and coaches who take the time to encourage these kids, it was a joy to watch and maybe someday I will get the courage to put my little ones out there.)

The Park was Hoppin…
Finally!!! Spring has sprung….or so we thought!
It was more than coincidence that I ended up changing the Hop Into Spring Session to Saturday rather than Sunday. The weather was beautiful and the park was hoppin…no pun intended. The park was filled with every baseball playing kid in Cobb county, or so it seemed. Sweet Daisy arrived and was ready for the kids. She had her own little session during our break and was the best bunny model I’ve ever worked with ( and oh have I worked with many… kidding). As always it was a blast and thank you to all who came out and continue to give love and support. You know I couldn’t do it without you and I am so thankful. Enjoy the sneak peek!
I had to put up my handsome boys…Jackson loves his little Liam. ( and Liam is diggin the bunny! )
